Meet our Customer Service Co-ordinator

Hey Dominique, thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to chat with our readers. Why don’t you tell everyone a little bit about yourself?

I have lived on the beautiful Sunshine Coast for most of my life, so it’s probably no surprise that most weekends you will find me down at the beach with friends, taking full advantage of our stunning weather. If I’m not at the beach, I’m dragging my boyfriend to the latest hipster cafes with our dog Oreo (Oreo is always a lot more enthusiastic than he is).

That’s a lovely name by the way, it’s one you don’t hear very often… Do people ever confuse it for anything else? *laughs at inside joke*

I wish it wasn’t so, but constantly! I always get asked if I’m French or why do I have a boy’s name…

In a nutshell what does being the Customer Service Co-Ordinator for Single Use Dental Instruments entail?

Mostly it’s about being a point of contact for all our clinics whether they are a brand new clinic coming onboard, an existing clinic needing assistance with ordering, or sometimes it’s just about checking in with the clinics to make sure they are happy with our products and service… which I can confirm they are!

What attracted you to the role?

Initially what attracted me was the fact that I love customer service and enjoy being able to help customers in any way possible. But I also liked the fact that I could be apart of a company that has a strong focus on creating products that not only benefit our customers, but also the environment. Every day is different and I enjoy the diversity of the role.

What part of the job do you most enjoy?

I would have to say that building rapport with our customers would be the most enjoyable part of my day to day role. Initially, it was probably one of the most intimidating things about my role as I have never worked in the Dentistry industry, so I felt out of my comfort zone discussing our products to professionals that knew the industry inside out. Sure enough though, I now have customers call up and know me by name and some of us even have inside jokes…it’s nice to keep things a little light-hearted.

What is your biggest challenge in the role at the moment?

For the last month or so, I have been working with several our customers who are having trouble with their ordering system which has meant that they have had to rely heavily on myself to order directly through us and not their typical ordering system. As you can imagine, the initial phone calls I would receive from clinics when this first started were full of panic and confusion. But luckily, myself and a few of the team were able to get one step ahead of the issue and allow the clinics to purchase directly through us, which meant they are were able to service their patients and not have to go back to reusable instruments. The clinics were incredibly grateful and even though we could have stuck our head in the sand and not gone the extra mile, we chose to be proactive and in turn we didn’t lose any clinics or most importantly, we didn’t lose their rapport.

So, when you’re not at work saving the day for our customers, what do you do for fun outside of the office?

I like to keep active, so most days you will find me at the gym. I’m quite a competitive person so that trait comes out at the gym, particularly when I’m training with my boyfriend. If I’m not at the gym I’m either horse riding, going shopping with friends or enjoying a Gin and Tonic! Since my boyfriend and I have been dating, he’s been trying to convince me to go camping and fishing… it’s been two years and I’m still firmly against the idea.

What is your favourite dental instrument and why?

The Economic Tweezer – our TW81. I think it’s a great instrument and very affordable. Plus it can also be used to pluck stray eyebrow hairs which I found out the other day… take note ladies!

What are you most excited for on a Friday arvo?

It doesn’t sound very exciting but on Friday afternoons my boyfriend and I like to take our dog for a walk along the beach. It’s usually a chance for us to catch up as well because we are so busy during the week.
